Research in the framework of theoretical meteorology is concerned with a broad spectrum of meteorological phenomena and processes, analyzed in the scope of diploma and doctoral theses as well as various research projects. Current research activities cover the following areas:

• parameterization of fog
• interaction atmosphere - soil
• parameterization of moist convection
• transport of tracer species

A close collaboration exists with the German Meteorological Service (DWD) providing their COSMO model.
