2. Short Description

PoWRad is an innovative and unique 94-GHz Doppler Radar Cloud Profiler exclusively based on semiconductor technology. It is operated in FM-CW (Frequency-Modulated Continuous-Wave) Doppler mode with a continuously transmitted power of 350 mW. The recorded data are profiles of full Doppler backscatter spectra (backscatter power vs. radial velocity). Height and velocity resolution, maximum measuring height, unambiguous velocity range, and averaging time are adjustable with high flexibility.
